LESSON 54

Makeup application: fingers or brush?

Finger for natural look vs. Brush for elaborate look

HAND MAKEUP vs. BRUSH MAKEUP

Which one would you choose: natural look using fingers or elaborate makeup with brush?

There Is no right answer. It only depends on the look you want!
Why don’t you put on natural makeup for your date with boyfriend and then go with elaborate makeup for office look?
Use either your fingers or brush to create your desired look!

Natural look using fingers

Nothing is more convenient than your fingers. They come in different sizes, so you can use them wisely to create the eye makeup you want.

STEP 1.

Use either index finger or middle finger to apply a base eyeshadow over the eyelid and then give a touch of a dark shade above.

STEP 2.

Use the dark shade again to contour the eyes. And then use the smallest finger – your pinky – to apply a color accent along the crease. Use a clean finger to blend well and that completes natural eye makeup!

Tip: Use different fingers to prevent shadows from mixing.

Elaborate look using brush

Fingers are convenient, but the brush is your go-to when you want a more elaborate look! Eyeshadow brushes come in many different sizes and each has its purpose! Shorter and more dense bristles give richer color. That’s why a small brush is used to apply an eyeshadow as an accent.

STEP 1.

Apply a base shadow with a flat shadow brush and add a dark shade on top of it.

STEP 2.

Next, use a sharp bullet-shaped brush to apply a dark shade and draw the lines with a narrow eyeliner brush designed for delicate touch.
